 Qualifying Procedure and DUELS

Qualifying for the Daytona 500 is a unique event in Motorsports and even more so in the Majors. Finding the balance between raw pace and race craft is more important in this race then perhaps any other.

For the Pro split in each region, 24 spots will be earned in the Duels and 12 spots will be earned in Qualifying.

The Duels are optional, Qualifying is not.

Qualifying sessions will begin on Saturday, Feb 2nd and will run through Sat, Feb 9th (6:00 pm Pacific).

* Each region will have three Duels that will be set up as a tournament in the hosted area of iRacing.
* Drivers must only compete in their own regions Duels.

* Drivers must have made a qualifying attempt prior to entering a Duel.
* Drivers may compete in as many of the Duels as they like.
* Top 8 drivers per Duel will advance to the Daytona 500 Pro Split
* Duel must have at least 15 drivers compete to advance 8 drivers.
* If Duel has between 10 and 15 drivers then 4 drivers will advance.
* If Duel has less than 10 drivers, zero drivers will advance.

* If less than 8 drivers auto advance those spots will be allocated to drivers based on qualifying time.

* MCPI is IN EFFECT during the Duels and any penalties levied could result in grid penalties for the 500.
* 75% of Pro Grid spots are reserved for Silver (and above) pass holders.
